Choir Registration 8/31 and 9/8

Dear CHS Choir Singers and Parents,

Please plan to attend Choir Registration either 8/31 from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM or 9/8 from 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM. This event allows us to take care of everything needed by each singer for the entire school year, and it is critical that you attend one of the nights. It will only take about a half hour to go through the entire process, not the entire two hours. Both the singer and a parent need to be in attendance at the same time.
We look forward to seeing all of you on one these two dates. It has been an amazing first week back in the CHS choir room!

Voice Lesson Forms

Dear CHS Choir Parents and Singers,

We are thrilled to have your singers in choir this year!  We currently have over 50 singers who have submitted the Voice Lesson Packet to study voice this year.  All singers who plan to take voice MUST complete this form each year.  Voice teachers are assigned on a first come, first served basis so the earlier you get your forms in, the more likely you are to get the teacher or time slot you prefer.  The two forms on the back of the packet should be completed and delivered to Mr. Carruth as soon as possible.
Click here to view the Voice Lesson Packet if you would like to complete it and send it with your singers tomorrow.
If you have any questions, please let us know!

College Essay Writing Assistance for Choir Seniors! – ADD 9/15 to your Calendars!

Dear Choir Senior Parents,

Dr. Karen Reed who is one of our Band Parents has volunteered to help our Choir Seniors with their college essays.  We have scheduled her to come from 4-5 PM on September 15th and we highly encourage you to have your  senior be in attendance for this event!
Below is an email from her:

Dear Senior Parents,

I am going to meet with seniors in the Large Choir Room on Tuesday, Sept 15

from 4-5 pm to assist them with writing college essays.

Please ask your senior to bring a draft of at least one essay. They will

not have to read it out loud, and there will be no public shaming. Have

them bring a laptop/ iPad or go old school with a hard copy and a pencil.

It’s time to get started!

Karen Reed, Phd

Madrigal Rehearsals begin on Tuesday, August 25

Dear Madrigal Parents and Singers,

We are so excited about the upcoming year. We want to make sure we communicate with you when our rehearsals will be and how long they will last.

We will begin on the second day of school from 7:30 to 8:15 each school day. This is a zero period course, therefore punctuality is of major importance.  We are required to count tardies which oftentimes in Madrigals lead to detentions.  If a singer is more than 10 minutes late, they must be counted absent.  Anytime a rehearsal will be cancelled or extended, we will let you know by email.

If you have any questions, let us know!
